The County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups

The Federation is a voluntary body that was formed in 1999 in order to exchange ideas, share information, and raise awareness of County Kildare’s local history groups and their activities. More information on the federation can be found in the About KFLHG section.

On this website we provide a Local History Diary to share details of upcoming talks and events that our member groups have organised.

The News section contains events organised by non-member organisations and covers details of conferences, seminars, exhibitions, festivals, and lectures. In addition, notices of grants, competitions, and any other heritage/history/archaeology related news relevant to Co. Kildare, or surrounding counties, is posted in the news section.

The website also includes a section on each member group arranged by area. These sections have details of the individual groups, their upcoming events, publications, and in some cases a brief local history of the location is provided. Select an area from the links below or throughout the website from the side menu.
