Location: Celbridge Library – Dermot Meleady: “John Redmond and the Great War”  (Examining Redmond’s motives in calling, first, for Irish nationalist support for the Allies in August 1914 and later, for Irish nationalist enlistment with the British forces in the Great War)

Wreath-laying ceremony at Donaghcumper for Belgian Refugee Jean de Kock – Cathi Fleming and history club pupils from Scoil na Mainistreach; with Celbridge Historical Society

•    17 March:  St. Patrick’s Day

Visit to Ancient Oratory, Hill and Well of St Patrick.
Meet at Oratory (Ardrass) at 11 am.

•    Saturday, 16 May – Tour

11 a.m. Guided tour of Glasnevin Cemetery and museum;

2.30 p.m. Guided tour of Botanic Gardens, including the history of the Glasshouses.

Tour rates: Cemetery and Museum: €7; Botanic Garden tour €5.  Advance booking essential.
