The Federation is a voluntary body that was formed in 1999 in order to exchange ideas, share information, and raise awareness of County Kildare’s local history groups and their activities. More information on the federation can be found in the About KFLHG section.
The News section contains information on history conferences, seminars, exhibitions, festivals, lectures, book launches, and other activities that are taking place within the county, or of relevance to County Kildare and its history or heritage. Notices and call outs for grants, award competitions, and bursaries relevant to the heritage, history, or archaeology of Co. Kildare, are also posted in the news section.
The website also includes a section on each member group arranged by area. These sections have details of the individual groups, their contact details, publications, and in some cases a brief local history of the location is provided. Select an area from the links below or throughout the website from the side menu.
