Overview

Our proximity and easy access to Dublin has meant that we have also developed as a commuter town with a large range of local services available here

Maynooth Town Centre is probably the best surviving example of a planned landlord town in Ireland

To the West it is bound by St. Patrick’s College/ Maynooth University

To the East it is bound by Carton Demesne

To the North the Co. Meath border is just behind Maynooth Education Campus and the M4 Motorway is to the south

The Fitzgeralds shaped the town from the 13th to the 20th centuries

During the times of the Fitzgeralds (Earls and Dukes) Maynooth at times was the Political Capital of Ireland

The presence of St. Patrick’s College and Maynooth University has made Maynooth an important Religious and Educational Centre in Ireland

The presence of the Mill and Mart, Maynooth was an important regional town for Agriculture.
