Would you like to learn about oral history, life stories and memory? You can develop the skills of an oral historian through a seven-week training programme orgainised by Kildare County Council Heritage Office. The training will be delivered by oral historian and author, Dr Tomás Mac Conmara over the winter of 2022 through a hybrid format, with both in person and online lectures.
The programme, funded by Creative Ireland and Kildare County Council, will explore the value of oral history, and underline the key skills and understanding required to undertake impactful oral history projects. It will teach practical, experience-based methods, including interview preparation, research, ethics, consent, technical and interview skills.
The training will take place over six weeks on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm, beginning on 27th September 2022. The first session will be held in person.
