Dear Members and Friends of Celbridge Historical Society, Clondalkin Historical Society, Timahoe History Group, Rathcoffey History Group as well as our friends neighbouring groups including Maynooth, Leixlip, Naas, Kill, Ardclough and the National Federation.
This is to let you know that Celbridge Historical Society will host a St Mochua Commemoration on Wednesday, 6 August starting at 7.30.
I am delighted to announce that Seamus Cullen, historian and author who has written much on St Mochua and related subjects, has kindly agreed to speak at this event.
The exact details of the evening will be revealed next week. Suffice to say that it includes a visit to Tea Lane Graveyard where the ruins of the ancient St Mochua Church are located. The graveyard also contains many other points of interest and is currently in the early stages of a new conservation plan.
We will finish the evening by inviting all those present to join us for tea, coffee, sandwiches, cake etc, at the Slip Hall, beside the Church of Ireland at Castletown Gates.
