Dublin & Kildare in the days of horses is Sallins Local History Society’s next talk presented by historian Pádraig Laffan.

What’s the Sallins connection there I hear you ask?!

Well, given Sallins played such a pivotal role in the transport of goods along the canal, horses were the lorries of the good oul days and were used to pull carts full of stock to barges docked along the Grand Canal that were destined for various stops along the route including our good selves!
