Until the late medieval period local early-Christian missionaries were commemorated on their feast days, in the form of local festivals. One such 6th century missionary, St Mochua, also known as St Crónán, is acknowledged as the local patron saint of four different locations: Celbridge, Clondalkin, Rathcoffey and Timahoe.
Since the revival in 2004 of an event to mark the feast day of St Mochua / St Crónán on 6 August, the four districts have taken it in turn to hold the event. When the Celbridge Historical Society host the St Mochua Feast Day event they do so in the Maunsell Chapel in Tea Lane Graveyard, adjacent to the site of the 6th century early Christian Church built by St Mochua, at the top of Tea Lane, in Celbridge town.
No parking available at Tea Lane Graveyard.
