New conservation project for Tea Lane graveyard in Celbridge

Celbridge Historical Society is delighted to hear that a local group has been set up with a
view to restoring and preserving into the future the historic Tea Lane Graveyard in Celbridge.

The project was initiated by Breda Konstantin, with the practical support of Rosemarie Healy, Michael Connolly and Nuala Walker.

There are further details on the facebook page.

The project is taking place under the supervision of the Heritage Officer of Kildare County Council.

The initial work which is currently under way consists of grass cutting, using strict conservation criteria in order to preserve the integrity of the Graveyard.

There is also a Conservation Management Plan being carried out, funded by the Heritage Council.  The plan will be made available once it has been completed, hopefully later in the year.
