Following last year’s success we have included articles relating to “The Dandies” Band, History of Allenwood; Kildare after Cromwell; Death in the Trenches and very many more items of interest. We hope that people seeking relations, ancestors or stories of past events will find value in some of these books.

The Bridge 2014

Following on from last year’s Journal we decided to do an Annual publication and we gave it the title of “The Bridge”. It is designed to bridge the past with the present and future, the old with the new. It is a serious effort to document the conditions in every respect that obtained in years long gone. It also commemorates the Canal Bridge at Blackwood which was built to facilitate the feeder of water supplies to the Grand Canal. It was demolished in the 1950’s by Kildare County Council to improve the road safety.

This year we have topics include Coolcarrigan aircraft landing, the 1916 rising, Sir John purser Griffith, and various other stories of historical interest.

20th Anniversary Journal 2013 & Local Area Directory

A 50 page booklet with topics such as the Life of St. Mochua, Coill Dubh Village, Quaker families, Hostel closures and many others.
