About Kill History Group

The Kill History Group was set up in 2002 after a meeting called to see if there was interest in setting up a group to research and record local history and lore in the Kill area.

Since then the Group has continued to meet, on the fourth Monday of the month, in the Parish Meeting Room (attached to the Parochial House) in Kill village. The Group normally takes a break for the summer months (July and August).

At these meetings, items of local and national interest are discussed and talks are arranged, to which members – and the public in general – are invited. There is usually a guest speaker at each monthly meting, as well as contributions by members of the Group, to the topic under discussion. There is good attendance, locally, at these talks and meetings are often attended also by those who have moved away but retain their interest in the locality.

The Group is affiliated both to the County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups and the national Federation of Local History Societies and takes part in their activities.
