A new MA programme specifically focussed on local or regional history has been developed by Carlow College. The course will be offered part time over two nights a week during term time for two years.
The MA draws particularly on the research expertise of Drs Margaret Murphy (medieval historian who is interested in settlement and agriculture) Elaine Callinan (political history) Regina Donlan (migration history) and Ida Milne (Protestant and disease/health history/ oral history).
With very competitive fees the M.A. in Irish Regional History aims to provide graduates with the skills and expertise to pursue a range of professional pathways, for example: heritage agencies and centres, County Council Heritage Officers, conservation and restoration, museums, national parks, tourism, charities and NGOs, research positions in government agencies and media companies, and arts administration.
The closing date for applications is July 30th 2021
