Kildare will be in the spotlight this Friday (1 May, 2026) as the Barrow Blueway is featured on Season 13 of Tracks and Trails on RTÉ One at 8:30pm (and available afterwards on the RTÉ Player). This programme is the result of a collaboration between Kildare Sports Partnership, Kildare County Council’s Community Department, and Waterways Ireland, working closely with the Tracks and Trails producers.
The presenter Doireann Ní Ghlacáin meets Athy musician Jack Lukeman and Caragh soprano Celine Byrne to explore the Blueway and takes viewers on a journey from Athy to Robertstown and highlights the unique features of the route.
