Kildare Decade of Commemorations are organising an event to coincide with the launch of a new publication A Timeline of the Civil War in County Kildare as part of Heritage Week 2022.
An accompanying volume to the previously published Timeline of the War of Independence, the new book detailing key dates and events of local interest to County Kildare during the Civil War will be launched at the event by Cllr Pádraig McEvoy, Chair of the Committee.

This free event in Maynooth Library will include an illustrated presentation by the authors noting some of the key dates, personalities and events that took place in North Kildare in the 1922-24 period. National events will be included to provide context also. The presentation and timeline will highlight interesting socio-economic, sporting and cultural episodes from the Civil War. It will provide an interesting insight into how the Civil War impacted on the lives of ordinary people one hundred years ago.
Complimentary copies of the timeline book will be available to collect on the night.
