Co. Kildare Federation of Local History Groups AGM/Seminar

Co. Kildare Federation of Local History Groups AGM/Seminar

We are delighted to say that we have secured Cora Crampton as our guest speaker for this year’s Seminar and AGM in KIlcullen Heritage Centre on Saturday 18th October 2025. Cora will deliver her prize-winning essay on Daniel O’Connell’s famous Monster Meeting at the Rath of Mullaghmast in 1843. We think this is a particularly appropriate topic as this year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of ‘The Liberator’.

We will also have a presentation about Larry Stanley, Kildare’s famous Olympian, Gaelic footballer and all-round sportsman, by John Lawler of the Caragh History Group.

The event will also be attended by our new County Heritage Officer, Dara Wyer, and this will provide an ideal opportunity to meet him, if you have not already done so.

If your group have any publications or other items of interest, feel free to bring them along.

Looking forward to meeting up again on the day and sharing news and experience with fellow historians.

Yours, Brian
Brian Mc Cabe – Chair of the County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups
