Kildare County Archives and Local Studies reopened to the public on Thursday 23rd May at its new location at Harbour View, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 A997. The building at The Harbour now houses a large amount of the county’s historical archival material, as well as its extensive Local Studies collections including Special Collections. It has a large Reading Room, along with a microfilm/public access PCs area. Researchers will be able to avail of assistance with their local history or genealogical research from our experienced staff.
Kildare County Archives holds the records of local government, along with some private papers and manuscript material relating to County Kildare. It provides a service both to the public and to Kildare County Council staff and elected members. It is open to researchers on Thursdays and Fridays, 10.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 17.00 by prior appointment.

Kildare Local Studies holds an extensive collection of books, periodicals, maps, photographs and newspapers relating to the history and heritage of County Kildare. It also has a range of material on Irish history, heritage and archaeology. It is open to researchers from Wednesday-Saturday, 10.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 17.00 by prior appointment.
