A new book has been launched by historian James Durney, ‘A good aul life’ Mickser Mahon 1921-1997, looks at the adventurous life of the well remembered Naas local, Mickser Mahon.
Mickser was born in Naas in 1921. He was probably better known to the townspeople of Naas in his latter years when he was sacristan of Our Lady and St. Davis’s Church.
However, in 1941, Mickser and his boyhood friend, Jackie Sheridan, had joined the British Army in Belfast and later fought at some of the major battles of WWII.
Told through many interviews Mickser gave over the years, ‘A good aul life’ is a story of a bygone era in Naas and beyond.
