• Public Housing was built in Maynooth from the 1930s with Greenfield (nickname Abyssinia) and Newtown Road
• A Public housing development (O’Neill Park) was built on the Dublin Road in the 1950s with the arrival of the town sewage system
• The 1970s to early 1980s, Greenfield, Cluain Aoibhinn, Carton Court and Rail Park were built
• Late 1980s to mid 1990s, estates in Moyglare, Beaufield, Silken Vale, Meadowbrook, Parklands, Rockfield and Woodlands were built
• Since 2000 several other new housing developments were completed on all sides of the town
