Description and Model by Archer Heritage Planning
Overview
Crouched Human Burial, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare (Licence number: 14E0398)
Excavation: Hospital Street, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare (2014:213)
Description: Crouched human burial found in Kildare Town, Ireland. From a late medieval cemetery excavated in 2014. This could be considered a “deviant burial” in contradiction to the common burial rite of the time (supine, extended, head to west). This 3D model was recreated from old site photos taken in 2014 using Meshroom 2019. Photos were general record shots taken from different angles. It was not the original intention to use them for photogrammetry but the resulting model is quite clean. Original mesh cleaned using Cloudcompare & Meshlab.
